Hello, beloved,
Spring has finally found our home on the hillside and, with it— enchantment. There are hundreds of seeds stuck to my dog's black fur, in between the pads of her paws, and wedged into my wool slippers. Dormant life, everywhere, waiting for something to grab hold of it. Give it gravity. Plump it, full thrust it forward. These dry husks, scattered like powder, these sleeping seeds, all hoping to wake up one day, rubbing shoulders with other living things, making racket that together sound like music.
I wish for a thousand more springs. I love the change of seasons so much that I catch myself wishing for eternal life. I can't bear the thought of missing the dawn chorus, the cyan of a robin's egg, the newly damp soil and its peaty smoke, and the sweet smell of sun-warmed cottonwood buds. I can't bare missing one moment of the natural world as its frozen edge melts and gives birth to countless new lives with wings and pops of brilliant color. Any moment, any spring, could be my last. Pay attention. Be stunned by the ripening world.
In honor of spring and its giving nature, I wanted to send you a list of things sustaining me lately.
First, I want to extend a practice that gave me a refreshing outlook on my life.
A Writing Prompt:
Write your obituary. When all the chips have fallen, and your cards are folded, write how you want to be remembered. Give yourself a vibrant review.
This practice is meant for you and you alone. A moment to see yourself in your unfolding as something divine and holy. Precious, irreplaceable, and uniquely yours. You may be surprised to uncover secret wishes, images, and impulses sanctioned in you, and even though you may not live up to everything you write, it will orient you in the direction of your heart and its hidden longing.
A Good Read:
This book helps to clarify many of the emotional and mental disintegrations we are going through. This book full of stories with essential reminders.
A Great Listen:
The Living Myth Podcast, with Michael Meade.
For those that love myth, storytelling, and meaningful dialogue, I’ve found myself binge-listening to this podcast.
An Invitation:
“Sit with Sarah” online community meditation.
This Wednesday, March 22, at 10 am PST, we are getting together to meditate and sit with our hearts, breathing, and open. Recordings will be sent out after the event. I intend to offer this once a month (most likely on Sundays), so if this week doesn’t work for you, do not despair!

May your days gradually fill with more and more light. May your aperture be wide enough to notice.
Blessing,
Sarah
Dearest Sarah, I am enchanted by your words and wish you 1,000 bouquets of daffodils. You shine so bright. ☀️
Dear Sarah,
You sound in a better place. The light has penetrated. Grateful.
We all know those dark spaces and must wait & endure with faith in transformation. You’re re-emerging anew, as is the beautiful natural world that you so adore.
We share this experience together holding each delicate flower in love when battling through the difficult days....the cold, harsh seasons. Bloom anew dear friend, as you let nourishment refill you. As, always, thank you for sharing. Kim
